The game of bridge has been embraced by kids and is no longer considered to be only played by seniors. We have had a successful school bridge program in the Orange, NJ Public School District since 2003. Our kids have been featured in the August 15, 2016 Sports Illustrated Kids, November 1, 2016, Newark Star-Ledger, the Washington Post and in the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) District 3 and Unit 140 newsletters.
The school bridge program is coordinated with the ACBL, an organization with an international membership of over a half million people. The ACBL holds bridge tournaments nationally and in Canada. The Orange bridge club has participated in the Youth North American Bridge Championships in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Chicago, Washington, DC, and Toronto.
Youth bridge is sponsored by numberous volunteers and bridge clubs, as well as by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). However, many more kids are interestedin learning bridge than current programs can accommodate. Bridge offers many benefits for kids who play, as it: - Develops critial thinking skills - Enhances math and verbal acuity - Improves strategic planning - Promotes socialization skills - Encourages healthy fun Your contributions will be used for developing and maintaining new programs, establishing innovative camps, teacher stipends, and transportation to tournaments. Your donations are tax exempt and would go long way toward bridging the gap between student and teacher interests and program availability. Please give to this worthy cause today. Any amount - $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1,000 or more - would be greatly appreciated.
